OUR Pledge
We, the members of this organization, solemnly pledge to serve returning citizens and their families with dignity, respect, compassion, and unwavering support. We commit to helping remove barriers, create opportunities, and provide the resources needed for successful reentry and lasting success. We recognize that the impact of incarceration reaches beyond the individual, and we pledge to stand beside families and communities throughout the healing process. In this commitment, we promise to leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of hope, empowerment, and second chances for all.
After serving more than 28 years in prison, John Bailey returned home determined to help others successfully transition back into society. Having witnessed firsthand the fear, lack of support, and barriers many returning citizens face, he founded Life From Inside Out! to provide hope, resources, mentorship, and guidance to those reentering the community.
What began as a personal mission quickly became a calling. Through partnerships, outreach, and lived experience, John works to connect returning citizens with housing, employment, food, healthcare, and support systems that help reduce recidivism and create real opportunities for lasting change.
“When they come home, I want them to know they’re not alone,” Bailey says. “I want to be able to say, ‘I’ve got you.’”
The reality of reentry
Each year, approximately 2,000 individuals return to Pinellas County after incarceration, many facing overwhelming barriers as they work to rebuild their lives. From finding stable housing and employment to accessing healthcare, transportation, food, and basic necessities, the transition back into the community can be difficult without support. Life From Inside Out! exists to help bridge that gap by connecting returning citizens to vital resources, compassionate support, and opportunities that empower successful reentry, restore dignity, and create pathways toward stability and hope.
